Art Education.

As an educator, I want to be able to connect to my students as much as I can. I want to be able to understand my students and make time for them when they need extra help. My duty as a teacher includes taking on the roles of counselor and advocate so that they have an equitable and safe learning environment. I strongly believe in self-reflection as a way to learn about my students and myself. I will grow as a teacher by following this path and building relationships. 

 

I believe that teaching is more than just working hard and accomplishing my daily tasks. It is about having the types of instruction that connect and relate to students and their lives. I will do my best to accommodate the different types of learner or students with multiple intelligences. Furthermore, I will incorporate enduring ideas into my teaching units and lessons. Enduring ideas are meaningful, universal, human ideas that are relatable to everyone, i.e. family, relationships, environments, change, and identity.
