Nghiem Quach.

Hi everyone!

I moved to Arlington, Texas from Upstate New York. In case if you have not had a chance to view the video in my home page, I graduated from Masson Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey. In May of 2014, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts. I also received my EC-12 Art certification and Master of Education in Teaching from the University of Texas at Arlington in December of 2017.

My artworks primarily focus on pattern and are contemporary, architectural, and ritualistic. I want to create works that others could experience, appreciate, and learn about pattern. I’m interested in the idea of simple shapes coming together to form complex compositions. I want to make simple shapes mean more than what they are. In summation, my goal is to influence the viewer in ways that will captivate and distort reality into something awe inspiring.

I started becoming interested in art when I was in first grade. I remember drawing and coloring vases in my art and craft class. Growing up, I continue to have the same passion. I finally came to the conclusion that I want to study art in my sophomore year at Rutgers. I couldn’t see myself studying anything other than art related majors. However, I want to expand my career by doing something that is surrounded by the artistic aspects but more than just making arts. I like to make artworks and I want to teach art. Education has also been an avenue of interest of mine since an early age. Partially because teaching is highly revered in my culture. For that, I was greatly influenced by my teachers and families. I believe that it’s a great title and I will do my best to earn it. I look forward to be even more immersed in art education and to teach elementary art classes in 2018.
